BMW team-mates in action for last time in 2015.

Straight after Saturday night’s Superprestigio in Barcelona, Jordi Torres caught a plane for Rome on Sunday morning ahead of a one-day test at Vallelunga.

On what was his first visit to the Italian circuit, Torres performed a single day of testing at Vallelunga on Monday, riding the Althea Racing BMW S 1000 RR alongside new-for-2016 team-mate Markus Reiterberger.

Both riders worked on developing their German machines, following on from their previous test session in Jerez, Spain two weeks earlier.

“We have been working with the objective of continuing to improve the bike and evaluating components with a view to future developments,” Torres told WorldSBK.com at Monday’s close of play. “We have been able to put in four hours of track work which has been important in continuing to learn and work with this bike.”

The MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship teams now enter a period of inactivity, including the official testing ban of 22 December to 4 January. No significant resumption of testing is expected until the second half of next month.
